Rooms on Cruise ships tend to be on the smaller size so every square inch counts. There are many little things you can bring on your cruise to make your room feel more organized and less cluttered. Face it, small room and clutter is not a relaxing vibe.

Helpful Tips for Cruisers:

  1. Pack Smartly: The first step to an organized cruise cabin starts before you even set foot on the ship. Pack strategically by using travel cubes or compression bags to condense your clothing and keep items neatly separated. I like getting each family member a different color so that it is easy to differentiate.
  2. Unpack and Settle In: Once you’re in your cabin, take a few minutes to unpack and put everything in its designated place. Utilize the cabin’s storage options such as drawers, closets, and under-bed storage to keep your belongings out of sight and free up space in the living area.
  3. Maximize Closet Space: Cruise ship cabins typically come equipped with a decent-sized closet, complete with shelves and hangers. To make the most of this space, invest in slim hangers to maximize hanging capacity. Use the shelves for folded clothes and accessories, and consider over-the-door shoe organizers for additional storage.
  4. Use Vertical Space: Cruise cabins are compact, so it’s crucial to think vertically and most cruises have magnetic walls. So buying magnetic hooks are a game changer to hang up wet bathing suits, hats, sweaters etc. freeing up valuable floor and counter space.
  5. Cable Management: Electronic devices are an essential part of and managing their cables can prevent a tangled mess. Bring cable organizers to keep charging cables neat and tidy. Consider bringing a multi-port USB charger to minimize the number of power outlets you need or this one is labeled as ‘cruise essential’ for multiple ports.
  6. Create a Command Center: Designate a specific area as a command center where you keep important items such as cruise documents, daily schedules, and excursion information. Use a travel document organizer or even a simple folder to keep everything in one place.
  7. Utilize Under-Bed Storage: Most cruise cabins have beds that can be lifted, providing extra storage space underneath. Use this area to store luggage, shoes, or other items you don’t need daily. This helps keep the cabin visually uncluttered while maximizing space.
  8. Limit Souvenirs: While it’s tempting to collect souvenirs at every port, be mindful of the space in your cabin. Consider purchasing small, meaningful items and avoid accumulating too much clutter.
