Pizza and New York City are synonymous. Ask any New Yorker for the best pizza and my bet is that you will get a different answer depending on who you ask. It’s true, the pizza in New York is next level. Wether its a dollar slice or a more gourmet experience it’s doubtful you will be disappointed. Below highlights some of my personal favorites. (Some of these places, you need to book well in advance!).

RUBIROSA

Rubirosa is located in the heart of Nolita. Reservations on Resy open up 2 weeks in advance, but you can walk in and hope for the best. If this is a place you are dying to try, I would go right when it opens. We love this restaurant because it has a great warm atmosphere and the pizza is some of the best I have ever had. If you are a pizza lover, this should be on your list. https://www.rubirosanyc.com

JULIANA’S

Located in Dumbo, this place has lines galore but it is worth it. Many don’t know but Juliana’s is the original Gramaldi’s in that the owner of Juliana’s is the former owner of Gramaldi’s. This is something only insiders now. The pizza here is out of this world. The sauce is so fresh and a nice atmosphere to take out of town visitors. The line is very worth it. https://julianaspizza.com

ROBERTA’S

With locations in New York, Miami and LA the original Roberta’s is located in Bushwick and a big favorite is the Bee Sting Pizza. While Roberta’s now offers shipping etc, it’s not the same and you should try and go into the restaurant and enjoy the pizza as it was intended. https://www.robertaspizza.com

UVA NEXT DOOR

Uva Next Door is a wine/pizza bar located on the Upper East Side right next to its sister restaurant called Uva. The wood burning oven pizza is some of my favorite and I absolutely love popping over during the week for a glass of red wine and wood burning oven pizza. My favorite is the sausage and mushroom. https://www.uvanextdoor.com

JOHN’S OF BLEEKER

It’s hard to talk about pizza and New York and not mention John’s Pizza. Located in the West Village, it’s a favorite of locals and tourists. John’s of Bleecker Street was founded by Italian immigrant Giovanni “John” Sasso at the turn of the 20th century. John’s was originally established on Sullivan Street, in the heart of Greenwich Village. After losing his lease on Sullivan Street, John Sasso dismantled his original coal fired brick oven and moved to 278 Bleecker Street where he continued to run and grow his business and refine his pizza recipe to perfection. Go early as there is always a line. https://johnsofbleecker.com

Like I said, everyone in New York has an opinion on the ‘best pizza’ comment below and tell me what you think!
