Luxury Family Adventures

We had been wanting to go to the Maldives for a very very long time. After much debate, we selected the Finolhu and it was a total WOW and EXCEEDED our expectations in every regard. Rooms, Food, Kids Club, Service everything was beyond exceptional. 

I have done my best to highlight why we LOVED this resort so much. 

1. ROOMS
We split our stay between 2 types of room. For the first half of the trip we stayed in the ocean pool villa. We were wowed by this room and it was perfect for our 2 kids and us, BUT then we switched to the overwater pool bungalow and we have never seen anything so beautiful. The view was incredible. If you are picking between the two rooms, would HIGHLY recommend the overwater pool bungalow. 

2. KIDS CLUB
Our kids (ages 9 and 6) LOVED the kids club. I was worried at first because they normally don’t like kids clubs and get bored, but the Kids Club fully kept them entertained occupied and importantly it was a highlight of their trip. The staff was incredible and they did everything from snorkeling, kayaking, arts and crafts to participating in the hotel shows!

3.FOOD
The all inclusive package was a terrific value. The food at the buffet was fantastic for breakfast, lunch and dinner and always had true variety. Our favorite night was the Bollywood themed dinner. On Xmas Eve, the dinner was also spectacular with endless amounts of deserts that looked too good to eat. The Asian restaurant was fantastic with incredible views, but the highlight on food was the Crab Shack for lunch. Food and View were incredible. 

4. SERVICE
Every staff member at this hotel went out of their way to ensure everything was as you liked. They were kind, responsive and accommodated you as much as possible. For example, we asked for a late checkout, most hotels would likely only extend by an hour, but the Finolhu was more than accommodating and extended our checkout time allowing us to enjoy a proper full day at the hotel. We have stayed at many 5 star properties and the service here was on par with the 4 Seasons. 

5. Surprises
The resort was incredible, but what really put this resort over the top was the little ways in which they would want to make your stay even better. Every night (we stayed over Xmas), they would put treats in the room for the kids – everything from a gingerbread house to a box of chocolates for them to enjoy. 

We will 100% be returning to this property. The trip exceeded our expectations and we can’t wait to come back!
